Role overview
To develop and implement a strategy for substantial growth in major partnerships in Switzerland by securing new funding relationships and strategically managing existing funders , with a portfolio of institutional, foundation and High Net Worth Individual donors.
• To provide first class stewardship and reporting to donors, including tracking delivery to milestones and corrective actions and excellent narrative/financial data.
• To develop and implement strong cultivation and solicitation plans for prospects and donors
to prepare and pitch fundraising products and tailored proposals; to identify value added donor engagement, such as information, case studies, events, and visits In accordance with tailored stewardship plans.
to identify new prospects to drive the pipeline for VSO’s major gift income stream
• to provide support and briefings to senior fundraising volunteers in securing relationships for VSO
Skills and Experience required
An excellent fundraiser, dynamic, proactive with considerable new business fundraising experience drawn from major fundraising organisations and/or with humanitarian agencies, the majority being in an international capacity directly relevant to the current position that should include exposure to bilateral agencies, foundations and major donors. Target-driven with strong relationship fundraising skills and a proven track record. Ability to prepare and present compelling funding proposals, tailored to funder needs, demonstrating need, impact and social return. Confident in making direct fundraising asks and provide strategic support to senior staff to do so. An interest in international development issues and an understanding of, and commitment to, VSO’s aims.
