Role overview
The postholder will manage the team which delivers a smooth international health clearance process to VSO's People and gives medical support to country offices, and to all volunteers and employees who become ill when travelling or living away from home on VSO business. The role will involve incident response and have out of hours on call responsibilities, will represent the medical function to others in the organisation with different priorities.Skills, qualifications and experience required
The ideal applicant will have experience of managing a team in a medical context and will bring strong performance management, excellent organisational skills and clear, articulate communication. Candidates will need to have the ability to build strong working relationships and to manage issues of medical confidentiality in a complex non medical organisation.
It would be an advantage for candidates to have experience of living and working in a resource-poor community, of working internationally, of working in the not for profit sector and / or experience of incident management.
