Role overview
Support primary curriculum officers with the writing of the new English primary syllabus and teacher guides and the next generation of school journals. Writing, editing, training, analysing research and mentoring writers, the volunteer will bring primary English technical advice ensuring the new syllabus is high quality, relevant to PNG and raises standards in literacy.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
Essential
• Experienced primary or lower secondary English teacher with specialism in reading and writing
• First language speaker of English
• Tactful facilitator and trainer
• Experience of writing training materials
• Wide knowledge of children’s literature
Desirable
• Experience in PNG or another development country in education
• Experience of curriculum design and implementation
•Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.
