Role Overview:
Lead on Program Development and Business Pursuit of the Livelihood Programme
Essential:
- Post Graduate Degree in Social Science or relevant field with strong experience around youth program design and engagement
- Minimum of 8 years' work experience in relevant sector preferably significant portion of it to be in Youth Livelihoods interventions, Youth leadership, engagement and mobilisation
- Minimum of five years' work experience in INGO or Donor world
- Excellent understanding of the country's socio-economic development, livelihoods opportunities, youth engagement platforms, and the private sector
- Experience of program development focused on using/accessing assets in skills, social capital, finance and information and natural resources,
- Already established professional relationship with Government institutions, well-versed with regard to successful livelihoods initiatives, youth networks, and CSOs
- Well established business development and resource mobilisation experience with proven track record of achievement
- Proven record of high level strategic thinking and engagement with donors, academia, development partners, government institutions, and the private sector
- Experience in new partnership establishment and development for program achievement
- Demonstrated analytical skills for strategic thinking, policy engagement, and program delivery
- Demonstrated experience in managing and working with teams of multi-disciplinary professions and cultures
- Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, particularly in a cross-cultural environment able to work with a diverse support team and volunteers
Sound level of program delivery experience
Desired:
Technical knowledge of M&E
Significant level of understanding of the country context in VSOE target locations
Budget and grants development and management skills.
Coaching and mentoring skills
Ability to demonstrate:
Team Management and Coordination: experience of leadership and high level coordination and management of people
Communication - Excellent verbal and written communications and report writing skills
Representation and negotiation skills - ability to negotiate difficult deals and maintain relations with stakeholders
Planning and Time Management - Excellent in prioritising tasks, time management, effective while working under pressure with tight deadlines
Financial - being well versed with financial requirement and able to capture top line indicators of financial performance
Advanced computer skills in MS Office word, outlook and excel.
Flexibility to adapt, positive attitude towards change, and constructive and creative approach to problem solving
