Role overview
The overall purpose of the job is to develop VSO Malawi program Renewable Energy strategy that will increase VSOs visibility in Renewable Energy interventions and enable it partner with other leading development agency’s in implementing Renewable Energy interventions.
Skills, qualifications and experience
BSc in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Renewable Energy or related field. A Masters in Environmental Management or Natural Management (desirable)
Strong experience in assisting farmer groups and have knowledge of helping communities in developing climate change adaptation interventions
Experience of climate change adaptions and mitigation projects
Allowance and accommodation
All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.
VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
