Role overview
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is part of the Global Funding Strategy and Engagement Team and is charged with providing business development leadership and coordination for identified VSO Country Offices in the Asia Pacific region. The BDM is responsible for optimizing income generation and business development from a diverse range of donors in support of VSO’s programmes and regional operations.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, passionate about social justice and inclusive development, knows how to be creative and persistent to achieve results, demonstrates consistent leadership and can work independently in a variety of changing circumstances. The ideal candidate has experience of securing funding from a range of institutional donors and direct experience of producing compelling project proposals and designing and implementing successful business development strategies. The candidate should also have experience of living and working in developing countries and will bring a well-established knowledge of the funding landscape in Asia. Candidates should enjoy extensive travel and working with diverse and geographically dispersed colleagues.
Candidates must have the right to work in the country in which this position is based (i.e. Thailand, Philippines and/or India).
